Bug#728403: gcj-4.8-jdk: adequate found a few broken symlinks in the new versions of the package.

Package: gcj-4.8-jdk
Version: 4.8.2-1
Severity: normal
User: debian-qa@lists.debian.org
Usertags: adequate broken-symlink

Dear Maintainer,
Adequate reported quite a few broken symlinks for gcj-4.8-jdk when
upgrading the packages.

gcj-4.8-jdk: broken-symlink
/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-gcj-4.8-amd64/man/man1/jar.1 ->
../../../../../share/man/man1/fastjar.1
gcj-4.8-jdk: broken-symlink
/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-gcj-4.8-amd64/man/man1/javac.1 ->
../../../../../share/man/man1/ecj.1
gcj-4.8-jre-headless: broken-symlink
/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-gcj-4.8-amd64/jre/lib/security/java.security
->
../../../../../x86_64-linux-gnu/security/classpath.security

Not just the symlinks are broken, even the names used give different manpages.

For e.g. these are the beginning lines from the manpage of jar and fastjar.

$man jar

Name
       jar-The Java Archive Tool

       jar combines multiple files into a single JAR archive file.

$man fastjar

NAME
       fastjar - archive tool for Java archives

SYNOPSIS
       fastjar -ctxu [OPTIONS] [jar-file] [manifest-file] [-C dir] files...

The same difference can be seen for javac.1 and ecj.1 as well.

The third broken symlink has already been reported as #726792 . Hoping
this is fixed in the subsequent versions.
