The incantation to do so is:
apt-get source crawl
# or from upstream git, the trunk has the same problem
cd crawl-0.10.0/source
make GCC=gcc-4.7 GXX=g++-4.7 LTO=y

I tried following the upstream docs on how to debug or reduce LTO problems,
but it turns out this is currently beyond me, thus I'm sadly reporting
without a minimal testcase.
