Bug#631772: spu-gcc-4.6: fatal error: -fuse-linker-plugin, but liblto_plugin.so not found

I am unable to compile anything with this version of spu-gcc:

  % spu-gcc-4.6 -c -o main.o main.c
  spu-gcc-4.6: fatal error: -fuse-linker-plugin, but liblto_plugin.so not found
  compilation terminated.

I do not have this problem with spu-gcc-4.5, spu-gcc-4.4, or spu-gcc-4.3.
