and
gcc-4.4  -c -O3 -Wall -fno-strict-aliasing -o krasner.o krasner.i
ICE but
gcc-4.4  -c -O2 -Wall -fno-strict-aliasing -fomit-frame-pointer -fPIC -o krasner.o krasner.i
does not ICE.
