Looks like gcc-doc-base has been removed from the archive, but the most
recent version of cpp-4.3-doc still depends on it.  This dependency
should be removed.

--- Begin Message --- Closing. Apparently during the transition to gcc-4.4 the gcc-doc-base package disappeared from the servers for a while. It has now returned:

$ apt-cache policy gcc-doc-base
