hi

I wanted to profile my package 'xmorph'; I issued the commands
$ FLAGS='-g -O0 -fprofile-arcs -ftest-coverage'
$ ./configure   CFLAGS="$FLAGS"   CXXFLAGS="$FLAGS"     LDFLAGS="$FLAGS"
$ make -k    CFLAGS="$FLAGS"   CXXFLAGS="$FLAGS"     LDFLAGS="$FLAGS"
(the typescript is in attachment)
unfortunately some of the links fails with error
  /usr/bin/ld: .libs/gtkmorph: hidden symbol `__gcov_init' in /usr/lib/gcc/i486-linux-gnu/4.0.3/libgcov.a(_gcov.o) is referenced by DSO
  /usr/bin/ld: final link failed: Nonrepresentable section on output

I am quite puzzled because the binaries
  'gtkmorph/testfourier'  'glade2/gtkmorph' do link, and
  'gtkmorph/gtkmorph' 'xmorph/morph' 'xmorph/xmorph' do not

a.

tagging issues reported against gcc-4.1 and closing them. Many of these reports had unanswered requests for missing information for a long time. If any of these issues are seen with the current default gcc (gcc-4.4), please add the missing information, reassign the report and reopen. If the issue is reproducible with 4.4, please check with gcc-4.5 (experimental) and current trunk (gcc-snapshot) too.
