Yes.

Apparently not. Someone from Gentoo showed up in #go-oo a few days ago
with (most probably) this problem:

10:52 < yarodin> is anybody know about random crashes on ooo builded by gcc 4.3.3?
10:54 < yarodin> ooo 2.4.2
[...]
12:27 <@_rene_> yarodin: yes
12:28 <@_rene_> if it crashes in sal :)
12:28 < yarodin> _rene_: oooo, i'm writing email to you at this moment
12:28 < yarodin> how you solve this trouble?
12:28 <@_rene_> openoffice.org (1:2.4.1-17+b1) testing; urgency=low
12:28 <@_rene_> * Binary-only non-maintainer upload for powerpc; no source changes.
12:28 <@_rene_> * Rebuild in testing, since program crashes when built on unstable (see #513743).
12:28 <@_rene_> -- PPC Build Daemon <buildd_powerpc-voltaire@buildd.debian.org> Wed, 04 Feb 2009 23:09:35 +0000
12:28 < yarodin> looks like a gcc 4.3.3 problem
12:28 <@_rene_> we solved it by rebuilding 2.4.1 against testings gcc
12:29 <@_rene_> and 3.0.x does not have that problem
12:29 <@_rene_> so our gcc maintainer (-> doko) assumes it's a OOo bug just caused by new gcc
12:29 < yarodin> what's version testing gcc of debian?
12:29 < yarodin> i'm maintainer of gentoo oo
12:30 <@_rene_> and why are you not at 3.0 then? no distro I know cared about 2.4.2 :-)
12:30 < yarodin> but there isn't any patches for OO?
12:30 <@_rene_> gcc-4.3 | 4.3.2-1.1 | stable | source, alpha, amd64, arm, armel, hppa, i386, ia64, mips, mipsel, powerpc, s390, sparc
12:30 <@_rene_> at that time (now testing also has 4.3.3)
12:31 < yarodin> our gcc version for unstable is 4.3.3
12:31 < yarodin> but.... it doenst helps
12:31 <@_rene_> if you find out what's the cause me and doko would be grateful to know
12:32 <@_rene_> until then I don't care as lenny has a working 2.4.1 with gcc 4.3.2 and unstable has gcc 4.3.3 combined with OOO 3.0.x which works :)
12:32 < yarodin> _rene_: we must to support 2.4.2 and 3.x.x both until 3.1 will be released
12:33 < yarodin> but i'll got same bts
12:33 <@_rene_> then happy debugging. read the referenced bug above (+ it's colleagues) for details
12:33 < yarodin> i'm read it about a day ;]
12:35 <@_rene_> but thanks for the info that 2.4.2 is also broken wrt this (if you get the same bt)
12:35 <@_rene_> doko: ^
12:35 < yarodin> and all builds has that problem, not only go-oo
12:35 <@_rene_> yep
12:35 < yarodin> infra build too

Grüße/Regards,

René
