Bug#481455: firefox complains about missing std c++ library after system upgrade

How could apt or dpkg know about the requirement of non-debian software ?

I hope that you do not suggest to scan all applications/libraries on the
system (including /opt and /home) before any library removal ?

The correct fix would be to package the software in a Debian package (official
or not if the license does not permit it) so dependencies can be correctly and
automatically managed.

PS: note that firefox is already packaged as iceweasel is Debian...
