Bug#424918: gcc-4.1 - segfaults if /proc is not mounted
Package: gcc-4.1
Version: 4.1.2-7
Severity: important
cc1 segfaults if /proc is not mounted and it have to compile large files
(the preprocessed source is over 800KiB, the source file 250KiB).
The failing commandline is
| gcc-4.1 -m64 -Os -Wall -fno-strict-aliasing -o test1 -c tmp/cczsgTYO.i
I used the already preprocessed source from the initial failure.
| # chroot . gcc-4.1 -m64 -Os -Wall -fno-strict-aliasing -o test1 -c tmp/cczsgTYO.i
| drivers/scsi/aic7xxx/aic79xx_core.c:9493: internal compiler error: Segmentation fault
| Please submit a full bug report,
| with preprocessed source if appropriate.
| See <URL:http://gcc.gnu.org/bugs.html> for instructions.
| For Debian GNU/Linux specific bug reporting instructions,
| see <URL:file:///usr/share/doc/gcc-4.1/README.Bugs>.
| mount Preprocessed source stored into /tmp/ccIiRebH.out file, please attach this to your bugreport.
| # mount -t proc none proc
| # chroot . gcc-4.1 -m64 -Os -Wall -fno-strict-aliasing -o test1 -c tmp/cczsgTYO.i
