g++4.0 debian

Hello,

I am trying to install g++4.0 on my debian system by the Synaptic  
Package manager, but it doesn't work. I can only find a .tar.gz  
package on packages.debian.org, but this is only for a freebsd  
architecture. When I install xubuntu, the Synaptic package manager  
does find a g++4.0 package. However, when I add its apt-line in de  
debian package manager, it doesn't install... please help! Thanks very  
much in advance!
