Bug#384303: gcc-defaults: alternatives pointing to non-existent manpages

Package: gcc-defaults
Version: 4:4.1.1-6

Hello,

several gcc-defaults packages install alternatives for manpages not
shipped anymore since 4:4.1.1-6. This is most likely due to the fix for
#200003.

mandb: warning: /usr/share/man/man1/c++.1.gz is a dangling symlink
mandb: warning: /usr/share/man/man1/cc.1.gz is a dangling symlink
mandb: warning: /usr/share/man/man1/i386-uclibc-linux-cpp.1.gz is a dangling symlink

Previous versions of gcc-defaults packages shipped symlinks to manpages
from the corresponding real packages, i.e. g++ shipped g++.1.gz pointing
to g++-4.1.1.gz shipped by g++-4.1 etc. pp. Furthermore, g++ installed
an alternative for c++.1.gz pointing to g++.1.gz.
Currently, neither the symlinks in the gcc-defaults packages nor the
corresponding manpages in the real packages are shipped. The alternatives,
however, are still installed. This leads to the warnings shown above.

I'm not sure if it is intentional not to ship all these manpages anymore
or if this is just a mistake brought by the fix of #200003. However, in
any case it should be consistent :)

regards
   Mario
