You're right, the patch for PR27227 (that fixes something and
introduces that error) was also applied to the gcc 4.1 branch.
However, I don't think the compiler should introduce new errors in
point releases.  I've asked upstream to change the patch applied to
4.1 in a way so it'll still allow this code.  Let's see what they say.
