Package: gcc-4.1
Version: 4.1.1-7
Severity: serious
Justification: 6

This package uses "update-alternatives --quiet" in many installation scripts.
The --quiet option is not supported by the latest version (in dpkg 1.13.22).
The manpage says it is not implemented.

As a result, installation fails. For example:
  Setting up fastjar (4.1.1-7) ...
  update-alternatives: unknown argument `--quiet'

The bug was caused by an old local copy of update-alternatives which got
into the execution path. Not a package problem, therefore.
