After removing the JNI lines from jython shell script (see issue #207998) kaffe dies with

kaffe-bin: machine.c:620: installMethodCode: Assertion `e->start_pc <= e->end_pc' failed.

This is the jython that is installed by debian.

we cannot reasonably do anything about this bug without more info, and
there's been no feedback for 3 month, so I close it. Please reopen or
