As far as I can tell the problem is in the toolchain. Nothing changed
with regard to how the 64 bit compilers were built compared to -4 (the
commands being issued look to be the same) and I appear to be unable to
get a biarch build of a simple hello world program to build with the
compilers I found to try:
gcc-4.0 -m64 hello.c
also complains about not being able to find libgcc.
