i always do a full bootstrap with different flags for stage1 and 2+.
make bootstrap \
BOOT_CFLAGS="%{rpmcflags}" \
STAGE1_CFLAGS="%{rpmcflags} -O0" \
stage1 (with -O0) builds, stage2 fails.
(rpmcflags == -O2 + additional options).
