This occurs on all machines available to me ppc with 96MB system (+128MB swap) and a smaller (32MB intel box).

Hi,

this takes about 201M of memory for me. This doesn't seem too bad, I
suggest you simply add more swap, or use g++-3.4, which only takes
132m; mainline is even down to 77m.
