Bug#280910: libstdc++5-3.3-doc: Some man pages are broken or perhaps shouldn't exist
Package: libstdc++5-3.3-doc
Version: 1:3.3.5-2
Severity: minor
The command
dpkg -L libstdc++5-3.3-doc | grep man3/_ | grep -v __gnu_cxx
prints a list of several man pages in the package that appear to be either
broken or perhaps shouldn't be generated at all. For instance, the file
/usr/share/man/man3/_home_packages_gcc_3.3_gcc-3.3-3.3.5_build_i486-linux_libstdc__-v3_include_i486-linux_bits_.3.gz
looks like this when viewed with man (man-db version 2.4.2-19):
include/i486‐linux/bits/ Directory Reference.TH "in‐
clude/i486‐linux/bits/ Directory Reference" 3 "23 Oct 2004" "lib‐
stdc++‐v3 Source" include/i486‐linux/bits/ Directory Reference −
followed by a large number of blank lines.
By the way, why does reportbug show me a list of all bug reports for the
gcc-3.3 source package when I asked it to file a bug against
libstdc++5-3.3-doc?
