Bug#277206: gcc-3.3: internal error (segfault) while compiling Linux 2.6.9
Package: gcc-3.3
Version: 1:3.3.5-1
Severity: normal
I checked out todays kernel (fresh 2.6.9 + todays BK updates to it) and
tried to compile it on 2 different computers (both x86, running
unstable). gcc segfaults trying to compile the vsyscall object file, on
both computers:
AS arch/i386/kernel/vsyscall.o
cc1: internal compiler error: Segmentation fault
With make V=1, this is shown to actually be
gcc -Wp,-MD,arch/i386/kernel/.vsyscall.o.d -nostdinc -iwithprefix include -D__KERNEL__ -Iinclude -D__ASSEMBLY__ -Iinclude/asm-i386/mach-default -traditional -c -o arch/i386/kernel/vsyscall.o arch/i386/kernel/vsyscall.S
cc1: internal compiler error: Segmentation fault
