Bug#263816: acknowledged by developer (Re: Bug#263816: Circular dependency libgcj5 <-> libgcj5-common)

Matthias:
Thanks, but I only find "libgcj4" part of GCC-3.3 in testing-proposed-updates. I am (trying to) install GCC-3.4, with "libgcj5". I assume one of these tools would let me modify the .deb to reflect the change locally (?) and proceed. But I don't know which one.

Download packages.
Attempting to configure, libgcj5 depends on libgcj5-common; however libgcj5-common depends on libgcj5.
DPKG goes a bit crazy trying to cope with this.

changed in 3.4.1-4sarge1 uploaded to testing-proposed-updates. libgcj5
doesn't need to depend on libgcj5-common. just recommend it.
