The fix is still missing on the 3.3 branch.
Yep, I noticed that too - due to failures in i686-pc-linux-gnu testresults coming in for 3.3.
If noone beats me to it, I'll look into it this weekend; however I do not have a ix86 system anymore to test patches on - so I have to ask someone else then ....
