Package: g77-2.95
Version: 1:2.95.4-2
Severity: important

Greetings,

The f__cabs() function in /usr/lib/gcc-lib/libg2c.a fails with SIGFPE
under certain conditions on alpha. This is because alpha math is not
ieee-compliant. Therefore, on alpha please use -mieee to build that
library -- or at least the libf2c/libF77/cabs.c source within it --
which will force ieee compliance and prevent the SIGFPE at the cost of a
small speed penalty.

Unfortunately, this causes one of the lapack tests to fail, and prevents
that package from building, hence the important severity.

Thank you,

Whoops, this wasn't supposed to be an NMU.
