Bug#107569: gcc-3.0-sparc64_3.0.1-0pre010801_sparc fail apt-get install

I have exactly the same problem on this system.  I've already tried Ben's
suggestion of purging all gcc-3.0 stuff and re-installing, and I still get
the error.
