       2) This bug makes the package unsuitable for a stable Debian release.
       The package should be removed from a stable distribution if this
       bug is not fixed.

This package halts the upgrade process, hanging while awaiting keyboard input.

This means daemons are stopped while awaiting keyboard input.

This is probably also a security issue, come to think of it, due to that.

If you want a rude message of this sort, why not "debconf" it, so that
it won't come up while the system is unattended?  That's what debconf is
for, right ... having the intervention-required messages all together,
so the actual installation and postinst can be done without the need
for hours of babysitting the system (on a slow box such as this?)

Just imagine if the BTS had a
 [Press RETURN to continue]
that awaited a given maintainer to intervene before the next bug could
be processed.  My MTA was down while this sat on the console, so it's
maybe not as far-fetched as it seems. :-/

Well, enough rhetoric.  This is unacceptable.  Debconf is there for
a reason.  Why not use it?
