netpbm free or nonfree : that is the question

Bonjour a tous,

en testant un soft, il s'avere que celui-ci necessite 'ppmtogif',

ce dernier se trouve dans netpbm-nonfree alors que j'ai netpbm ...

or :
 apt-get -s install netpbm-nonfree
Remv netpbm	(!!!)
Inst netpbm-nonfree
Conf netpbm-nonfree

soit... je m'execute...

cette fois, j'ai besoin de pnmcrop et pnmmargin qui sont dans ... netpbm
et bien évidemment :

bash-2.01# apt-get -s install netpbm    
Remv netpbm-nonfree   (!!!)
Inst netpbm
Conf netpbm         
        
?????
comment avoir les deux ... est-ce un bug ou une friture ??
