Bug#1051064: fonts-b612: The package is either missing or has mislabled the regular font style.
Hi folks,
I just learned about the B612 font, and after installing the fonts-b612
package (version 1.008-4 on a Testing/Trixie system) also experienced
this issue.
The "normal" version gets rendered both italicised and bold - though I
notice not with the same weight or italicisation as the explicit "bold
italic" version of the font.
However, some applications do render it correctly!
Font displayed correctly in:
- Firefox
- GIMP
- Chromium
"Normal" displayed as bold and italic:
- KDE Plasma font settings
- Krita
Though most unusual is obs-studio. If you create a text layer, the font
shows correctly when rendering the text overlay and preview, but on the
font selection UI the name of the font is rendered as bold and italic!
So given the applications affected and unaffected, perhaps this is
something specific to how KDE/Qt handles the font?
