Package: fonts-firacode Version: 1.204-2 Severity: important Within gnome-terminal (3.22.2-1) with font hinting settings as: full, RGB; a bare equals sign is totally invisible when using firacode, either regular, light or retina (although this is on non-"retina" displays) I think the ligature definitions are screwed up. An email address written as <foo@bar> displays as foo@bar=> (with the => bit a ligature, note the missing opening < at the start of the string) too. I haven't exhaustively tested all other ligature definitions or other symbols, but this makes it practically unusable. This is a freshly installed stable system. Thanks -- System Information: Debian Release: 9.2 APT prefers stable APT policy: (990, 'stable'), (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.9.0-3-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_GB:en (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) -- no debconf information

I guess this is quite a serious problem but it isn't fonts-firacode's problem (and looking upstream[1] for vte at least it won't be fixed any time soon) [1] https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=584160 -- ⢀⣴⠾⠻⢶⣦⠀ ⣾⠁⢠⠒⠀⣿⡁ Jonathan Dowland ⢿⡄⠘⠷⠚⠋⠀ https://jmtd.net ⠈⠳⣄⠀⠀⠀⠀ Please do not CC me, I am subscribed to the list.
