I'm not sure what other valac app to try -- i used grep-dctrl to sort out that the "swell-foop" game appears to build-depend on valac, and i can confirm that it runs without crashing. if you have a specific other valac app that you'd like me to try, please let me know, i'm happy to experiment. --dkg
