I will be happy to help you out learn Git :-) I already use git (for pytrainer and a few other sport-related packages, and samba packaging is partly using it, though not the "samba" packages but only samba4). The most difficult for me is....that there is way too much documentation floating around with many different workflows and I can't decide about one..:-)
