What is good with the fonts packaging team is that anybody can join, prepare packages and have them uploaded by one of the DDs in the team..:-) I suggest you start by filing a "Request For packaging" bug report (http://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/). By the way, the fontpackage should be called fonts-roboto rather than ttf-roboto. We're in the process of renaming all fotn spackages...
