As long as *.ttf file names don't clash, I don't see a major risk. That's indeed an interesting question we could address in the Fonts Packaging Policy. I think we should drop ttf- or otf- in the installation directory, but should we also drop the foundry part? For these gfs-* packages, I decided to drop it...but, for sure, that assumes the file names are unique enough to avoid clashes.
