Definitely a good idea..:-) You can indeed use svn-inject (part of svn-buildpackage) to add your packages. The use of it is easy and documented in its manpage. Of course, feel free to ask for any more hints in the mailing list. svn-inject <your_package.dsc> svn+ssh://svn.debian.org/svn/pkg-fonts/packages is the recommended way to do things.
