Case by case.

First, Ghostscript is the Postscript interpreter.

Postscript allows embedding fonts.
Here I call Postscript file with embedded fonts as 'embedPS', and
Postscript file without embedded CJK fonts (refer external actual
CJK fonts) as 'extCJKPS'.

embedPS: You can preview it without CJK support.
         You can print it to any printers without CJK support.
         Modern softwares such as Pango, OpenOffice, and Iceweasel
         export embedPS for the printing format.

extCJKPS: You cannot preview it without CJK support. You'll see blank or
          garbages.
          You cannot print if your printer doesn't support CJK Postscript.
          Legacy softwares such as TeX, a2ps, and so on still produce
          only extCJKPS.

Yes.

You don't need to care about 'Type1'. Type1 is Latin Postscript
