[Pkg-fonts-devel] OTF and defoma

TrueType hinting is way too complicated to make good quality
Thai fonts out of FontForge. Type1 hinting yields much better
quality, but it lacks OpenType GSUB/GPOS features.

After a test [1], I find OTF with Postscript data gives everything
I want: hinting quality and OpenType typographical features.
What is missing is its support in office applications.

[in Thai, sorry. But you can see what I said in the last
screenshot, compared to current situation in the first one,
and TrueType and Type1 hinting in the next two, respectively.]

So, I'd like to package Thai OTF fonts to ship another solution
for desktop users.

The question is: does defoma support this? I find defoma
currently supports 2 categories: truetype and type1. How about
OTF?

-Thep.
