Dear pkg-fonts team,

I am looking for a sponsor for the new version 2.2-1
of my package "ttf-sil-padauk".

It builds these binary packages:
ttf-sil-padauk - smart Unicode font for Myanmar

The package appears to be lintian clean.

No longer:

W: ttf-sil-padauk source: out-of-date-standards-version 3.7.2 (current is 3.7.3)

:-)

But that one is not really crucial.

Fixed in svn.

I however have doubts about the package description:

Description: smart Unicode font for Myanmar
Padauk is a Myanmar font covering all currently used characters in the
Myanmar block as specified in Unicode 5.1

To my understanding, "Myanmar" is a country and I therefore have
doubts about a font to be designed for a country. I'd expect it to be
designed for one or more languages.

So, either the font is designed for Burmese, the main language of
Myanmar, and the font should be advertised as a "font for
Burmese"....or it is designed for all (or seom) languages of Myanmar
and it should say something like "font for languages in Myanmar"

Yes, AFAIK it's intended for use in various languages in the country of Myanmar. The upstream designer is in Uploaders and is part of our team.
Please correct me if needed, Martin :-)

In my description I was referring to the Unicode block for which upstream is actually involved in the Unicode proposal itself.

I agree that your proposed solution "font for languages in Myanmar" helps reducing the ambiguity between the unicode block, the language and the country. I've reflected that in svn.

Cheers,
