Well, earlier cross-project discussions and conference calls around open
fonts for the free desktop have been coordinated via Freedesktop:
http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/Fonts/Configuration

It's much better to keep it that way. No need for another official
team-specific channel besides the project mailing-list (for which we
should probably take some spam prevention measures).

As for font development I recommend you follow the fontforge and
openfontlibrary lists.

The issues (and opportunities) facing Debian and its derivatives also
touch other upstream projects and distros that we need to collaborate with.

What do others in the team think?
