Matt, Daniel Glassey bringed your mail in the pkg-fonts-devel mailing list on Alioth. pkg-fonts-devel is slowly becoming a quite "central" point in font maintenance in Debian ("slowly" because I launched this, but not being a specialist of fonts, I can't animate the group as much as I would like). It would be interesting to have a common place shared between Debian and ubuntu when it comes at font management. After all, this was mostly my intent when I blindly launched the pkg-fonts project on Alioth. Not everything fonts-related in Debian is maintained by pkg-fonts members (defoma isn't, nor is fontconfig, nor are several font packages) but that shoud lincrease slowly while people join the group. http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/pkg-fonts-devel as a start for people who want to join. Of course, that can also be discussed during, say a cheese party at Debconf (this is a special Matt-fishing trick).
