For the CJK glyphs: It is currently not necessary to have all of them (> 70000), as only a small part of them are used regularly. The vast majority of those characters are seldom used. The CJK fonts in Debian (ttf-arphic-* for Chinese, ttf-sazanami and others for Japanese and the ttf-unfonts for Korean contain all necessary glyphs to display most standard documents (daily use characters). However, the complete CJK support is on my Todo list for the ttf-arphic-{ukai|uming} packages. But it takes a lot of time and I won't finish it in the near future. All blocks mentioned above will be supported by the ttf-arphic-{ukai| uming} fonts in the future, but the missing characters are not so important as that life depends on them... ;) Cheers Arne -- Arne Götje (高盛華) <arne@linux.org.tw> PGP/GnuPG key: 1024D/685D1E8C Fingerprint: 2056 F6B7 DEA8 B478 311F 1C34 6E9F D06E 685D 1E8C Key available at wwwkeys.pgp.net.
