I don't understand well. 

Openvpn is well dokumented. But isn't compatible with PPTP. 

Openvpn is pretty sulution for make tunel between two site as Point to
point as well as IP bridge.

PPTP minimize support costs? I don't believe. I had too much problems
with it.
