'away from home' is 'anywhere in the world with a net connection'.

There's nothing broken. What happens is that when I'm inside the
network, since the laptop is configured to access myexternal.dynamicdns.
org, if my internet connection is down I can't access it, even though
the same service is available using myfirewall.localnet. Instead of
having to reconfigure my laptop when I'm inside my network I'd like to
have bind respond to myexternal.dynamicdns.org with the address for
myfirewall.localnet, but I would still like for it to resolve all the
other .dynamicdns.org adresses correctly.

Hope this was clearer,
