RE: nat ipchains on debian woody
if you use the latest Debian (2.6 kernel I think) you can use the iptables which is said to work better than ipchains
iptables uses masquerade
at this time i'm using iptables and am experiencing performance problems but most people say there are no problems, I'm waiting for a solution

Which kernel Do you use ?
The Installkernel from the CD ?
The ipchains in in Linux as module.

it installs the pakage "ipmasq" :-)
which is need for IPMASQUERADING (NAT) under <= 2.2.xx
