more networking stuff

Hey,
Once again thanks for all the help with the iptables stuff, i now have another 
problem i ran into trying to set up multiple clients on the computer i set up 
as a server, the setup is now like this

cable modem
        |
    router
        | 
    server
	|
      hub
   |   |   |   |
    4 clients

the setup works fine if i plug one (1) client straight into the server, but 
when i throw the hub in between the client and the server the little link 
light on the hub doesn't blink. the lights on the client side do, but the 
lights on eth1 on the server and on the hub don't blink denoting there is no 
connection between the server and the hub.
The hub works fine because when i plug the hub into the wall, i can hook up 4 
computers and they will all have perfect internet connection.
does anybody know what my problem here is?
