An easier way to do this would be to just parse the results returned
by the
command "ifconfig".
It contains the amount of bandwidth passed through each interface.
Although if you want more detailed information you could use iptables
or
have a "tcpdump" running in the background.
Unfortunately I have tried only the first (easier and faster) way of
obtaining the bandwidth, so if you do find some way of getting that
from
iptables, please let us know.
