Firewall duplicate route table entries

Greetings all,

I am running debian 3 as a proxy/firewall on a P2 system - did the basic install from CD 1. Now, at command "route -n" I get 2 route table entries each for eth0 and eth1...

ifconfig shows one entry for each card.

There is only one entry each in /etc/network/interfaces and no entries for these NIC's in /etc/modules. Also, tried editing /etc/init.d/networking script but no success - they're either absent from the routing table or they're added twice. This is also the case on
the router/gateway I installed woody on.

I think I'm overlooking something here...

Please advise.

Regards,
Shango
