sonicwall vpn client-->server through firewall

hi,

I have a problem connecting a sonicwall vpn client to sonicwall server
on the other side of the (debian) firewall.

the client runs on W2K. the initial connection seems ok but the client
does not get an ip-address(dhcp). Not using the firewall clears the
problem.

anyone know if I have to do something special (in ipchains) ?

right now the firewall is ACCEPTing everything and MASQuerading.
 
Next step is to contact Sonicwall, just thought I would ask here first.
