Re: box does weird stuff
This is a little vague, sorry, but I think the problem(or part of it) may be
a kernel option. I remember having this problem with some of my machines.
There was a kernel configuration option whose description matched that error
message (and said to turn on the option if you got that message). However
I cannot find that option any more in either 2.2.18pre21 or 2.4.2 (which are the
kernel sources I have). This might be because its in a really weird place, but
more likely I suspect the problem is detected and fixed in those versions.
Might try upgrading your kernel to one of those versions (2.2.18pre21 is
dselectable).
