Actually I had forgotten to enable ip_always_defrag. To import an NFS
filesystem my laptop is the initiator of the connection, and SPF correctly
handles this letting the resulting traffic through. I was having problems
because packets get fragmented and fragments did not get through. I can
now have NFS _imports_ without opening any particular holes.

any ipv6 protocols?
