This sounds like a great opportunity to perform the installation of
Debian on Michael's SE/30.  Which is right now sitting next to me in
my office, looking reproachfully.

Alternatively, if people would like to see an installation on a more
wide-spread platform, I could bring our fai on a laptop, and install
Debian on a bare metal workstation without even touching it.
