Jes, cxe mi xntpd bone funkcias. Mi uzas jenan version:
xntpdc 3-5.93a Sun Jun 21 23:11:26 MET DST 1998 (1)
Mi mem tradukis gxin el la oficialaj fontoj. 
Mi iam jes havis problemoj: kiel funkciigi mian DCF77 ricevilon
kiel sxangxi la servilojn de kiu vi prenas la tempon.
La unua problemo dependas parte de mia ricevilo, parte de la bonaj
sxaltiloj dum la tradukado.
La dua problemo mi solvis dum longa tempo per relancxo de xntpd.

Fakte, mi ne uzas debian. Mi uzas kaj RedHat kaj Slackware. Tute
ne estas diferenco.
