You can't migrate from Debian to Emdebian - you need to reinstall. (I'm
not entirely sure if it would be possible to migrate the other way
either).

As you found, busybox is the main problem - along with the problems of
dropping Essential.

Sorry, I don't know why you thought you could switch to Emdebian from
Debian - that just isn't supported (at least yet). Equally, you can't
usually migrate from Debian to Ubuntu or vice-versa.

Probably needs to be made clearer in the docs.
